Questions to ask your Jet Washing Provider

Posted on October 21,2017 by Dave Smith.

If you’re thinking of having your drive, deck or patio professionally jet washed, you’ll no doubt have certain questions that you’ll want answering before you go ahead. There are certain things that you should definitely ask before commissioning a driveway or patio jet wash, which you may not have thought about.

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions you may wish to ask your professional jet washing provider ahead of letting them work on your garden or driveway.

How Long does Jet Washing Take?

This is a tough question to answer, as it obviously depends on how big the area to be jet washed is, and what condition it’s in. As a rough guide, a small patio would take between 2 – 3 hours, for example, and a medium sized driveway approximately 6 hours.

How much does Jet Washing Cost?

There are several factors which influence how much jet washing costs. These include:

  • The size of the area to be washed;
  • The condition of the area to be washed;
  • What type of surface it is;
  • The location and access to the area to be washed.

Any good jet washing company will happily provide a written quotation for you to read in your own time, as well as answer any questions that you may have, so that you can make an informed decision as to whether to go ahead.

Do you need to use our Water?

This can vary from company to company. Some companies will ask to use your water, and will lower the cost of their services accordingly. Ideally, an outside tap is required, but sometimes an indoor tap can be used provided that there is easy access for the equipment to reach the patio or driveway to be washed.

Alternatively, some companies have a mobile water bowser that can be brought to the location. This will be full on arrival, and usually provides approximately 3 hours’ worth of cleaning.

Are you Insured?

This is a really important question to ask, as you need to know that the tradespeople you’re hiring are insured should anything go wrong. Any good professional jet washing company will have a public liability insurance which will cover them should anything untoward happen.

Do you have an Environment Policy?

Any responsible jet washing company will have measures in place so as to impact the surrounding natural environment as little as possible. The chemicals used in their detergents should be as environmentally friendly as possible.

If you have any questions regarding professional jet washing, it’s always best to seek the advice of an experienced and professional company. D&G Garden World have a plethora of experience in jet washing, and will happily answer any questions you may have ahead of us starting the work, so that you can feel in safe hands.
