Mounting CCTV on Your Garden Fence

August 26, 2014

Fencing is an important part of home security that works as an attractive method of keeping your garden secure and giving you the privacy you want (and deserve) when spending time in your back garden.

For the most part, garden fences have only really been marketed on the latter point mentioned above; the privacy you receive in your own garden when you place a fence around it. Although this is, of course, entirely accurate, the security benefits these fences can bring are considerable, especially when you combine them with other security methods, such as closed-circuit television (CCTV).

Outdoor CCTV

Having a large fence placed around your garden provides you with the perfect point from which to place a CCTV camera looking out into your garden. When looking for CCTV systems for sale online you’ll notice that despite the fact that most systems have been created for indoor use, they can just as easily operate from outside, so long as they have the appropriate waterproofing to keep them safe and secure from the elements.

Of course, this level of security would only be necessary if you have a fairly large garden, your garden is detached from the rest of your house (you can’t get a good view from your window, for example), or people have broken into your garden before, or indeed the gardens of those around you. CCTV in itself isn’t always as much of a deterrent as you’d hope it would be, which is why combining it with a large fence placed around the perimeter of your garden is crucial for ensuring you keep anybody who’s hoping it get in, out.

When looking at difference systems to place up on your fence, make sure you think about:

When protecting your property with a combination of high fencing and CCTV security, remember that the height of your fence and how obvious you make your camera placement is of critical importance. There are many CCTV systems for sale in stores and online, meaning you have an enormous amount of choice when deciding which system to protect your garden with.

In conclusion, combining a high, professional-quality fence with an outdoor CCTV system (waterproofed to protect it from the elements) is the perfect combination for protecting your garden from intruders.
